Ukraine has announced the commencement of mass production for an innovative domestically developed defensive UAV to enhance its aerial protection systems. Three initial manufacturers have started production, with an additional eleven getting ready to set up production lines, the defence ministry announced this past Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Proven in Battlefield Conditions

The drones utilize a nationally created technology called “Octopus” designed to intercept Shahed drones. The system has been tested in actual battle and demonstrated successful “during nighttime, under jamming and at low altitudes,” the ministry stated. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has set a target of producing up to 1,000 defensive drones each day.

The number two energy company Lukoil said on Friday it has been in talks with potential buyers regarding its foreign assets following recent restrictions from the UK and the US and the collapse of an agreement with commodity trader Gunvor. “The specific deal will be announced once conclusive negotiations have been reached and required authorizations are secured,” Lukoil commented.

Ukrainian President Schedules Diplomatic Trip to Spain

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to travel to the Spanish capital, the Spanish capital, next Tuesday to meet with parliament members following his visit to Paris, the chamber of deputies announced. Zelenskyy would meet representatives from both chambers of the legislature throughout his stay, the Spanish statement confirmed.
