Renowned Star The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at the Age of Sixty.
US entertainer Pat Finn, who was seen in popular television series like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died aged 60.
The comedy and improvisation performer succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California recently following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, according to news outlets.
"He saw everyone as a friend - just potential friends he didn't know yet," his relatives said in a statement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Prolific Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a regular part on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a party host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on several hit series, including:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for playing Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Away from his television work, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a comedy group of six known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"He taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils during his career and it would be difficult to find someone anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A wonderful father and man," he posted publicly.
The actor is leaves behind his partner Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
