Norris Leads Piastri in Brazilian Practice
Lando Norris has outperformed his teammate at all of the past five race weekends.
The McLaren driver edged out team-mate and title rival Oscar Piastri for the fastest time in the dying seconds of practice at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Norris, who grabbed the championship lead from Piastri by a single point after taking the win in the Mexican Grand Prix a fortnight back, topped the Melbourne-born driver by 0.023 seconds.
Before then, Piastri had been the fastest McLaren driver for most of the session before the sprint shootout set to begin at 18:30 GMT.
Max Verstappen, the only other driver in the points battle, lying 36 points Norris, finished in 17th position as his Red Bull team followed a different programme.
Verstappen's team-mate the Japanese driver was the only driver to have an incident, albeit lightly, when he spun at Turn Four soon after starting.
Tsunoda slid over the track edges before sliding over the escape zone, and was blessed to escape with just a light touch of the barrier.
Ferrari's the seven-time champion also lost it, at the very end of the session, turning around through the fast downhill Mergulho corner leading to the final corner on to the start-finish straight.
Hamilton wrapped up in P19, just behind teammate the Monegasque driver.
The McLaren pair were far ahead of the rest of the field, with Nico Hulkenberg's Sauber in third, over half a second behind the Australian's time.
Aston Martin's the Spanish driver was fourth fastest, with the Sauber of Bortoleto fifth from the Mercedes of George Russell and Alpine's Gasly and Williams' Carlos Sainz.
