Former Physician Accused of Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients
Prosecutors have stated that a former doctor stands accused of committing sexual assaults involving 38 individuals who were patients.
Details of the Grave Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous sexual offences – comprising some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
List of Offences
The charging documents said the forty-five sexual offences comprise:
- Fifteen counts of assault.
- 17 counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
